Zakk last! The final Zakk the metrosexual worship leader image.

A few weeks ago, a wildly talented comic artist named Wes Molebash agreed to a crazy idea I sent him. The plan was simple. For every $3,000 Stuff Christians Like raised toward building a second kindergarten in Vietnam, we would add an accoutrement to our metrosexual worship leader mascot. Affectionately named “Zakkhaeus Barnabus Fouteknote” or “Zakk” for short, we all watched the support for Vietnam come in and the clothes for Zakk pile up.
Here is the progression from start to finish:
Zakk in boxers and a v-neck t-shirt.
Zakk has a white belt and some TOMS shoes.
Zakk rocks the graphic tee, unnecessary scarf and skinny tie.
Zakk receives a vest and some thumb rings.
Zakk goes man bag, gelled hair and thick white watch.
And finally, as Etta James so perfectly sang all those years ago, Zakk last, Zakk last.
We hit $60,000, finished our goal of two kindergartens and completely outfitted Zakk.
Here he is in all the metrosexuality that one human can possess. He’s now got a sleeve of tattoos and is riding a Vespa scooter. (What color is that? I think it’s “unripe papaya.”)
His man bag, scarf and skinny tie are flying in the wind majestically and he’s actually playing the guitar as he rides.

Zakk isn't singing anything. His beloved Worship Eagle had been perched on his shoulder until either the skinny tie or unnecessary scarf slapped the poor bird, sending it soaring. Now Zakk's crying (and reaching) out for him to come back. This is no time for singing.

For Christmas, I'm upping my little brother's metro worship leader quotient by giving him my white belt and unnecessary scarf accoutrements from my Halloween costume. I can't bring myself to give him my Cuban revolution hat…I bought it to be ironic but I found I have grown rather fond of it. And I'm wrapping it all up with the Handy Guide Quiz, and I'm pasting pictures of Zakk on the shiny silver wrapping paper.
