Free Sony eReader

Jan 23rd by Jon

ereader

A week ago, the 1 millionth unique reader visited Stuff Christians Like since March 2008. That is roughly 999,998 more than I anticipated. (Thanks mom and Jenny!)

I asked Zondervan if we could give away something fantastical as a thank you and as a way to tell people about the Stuff Christians Like book. (Which you should check out.)

“Sure,” they said, “How about a Sony eReader?”

I said, “Which series, not the 505?”

“Yes,” they said.

“The PRS? Silver model?” I asked.

“Yes,” they said.

“That retails at $370. Shouldn’t we save some of that money for the Stuff Christians Like jet we talked about?”

“This is a fictional conversation, though, and to be frank with you, it’s kind of run it’s course. I mean it’s wearing a bit thin.” They said.

Whole thing kind of unraveled after that. We were both kind of embarrassed to tell you the truth.

So here’s the contest. Post a comment response to the question, “How long have you read Stuff Christians Like?” and you’ll have a chance at a new Sony eReader and a digital Bible. Comment  as many times as you want until Tuesday, January 26.

Away we go.

“How long have you read Stuff Christians Like?”

Since of August of 2008. Has it been that long? One of the first posts I remember reading was about the woman you caught at VBS stirring the orange drink w/ her arm!

Thomas Jan 26, 2010

About a month.

I actually started reading today! I saw an advertisement for the book in Relevant Magazine and I decided to check it out! =) Good job!

I've been reading this for what seems like forever. It seems like this has always been in my blog subscription reader. I remember the days at blogspot…oh nostalgia scoot away!

In all seriousness though, I want to say I've been reading this for about 1.5 to 2 years but as I have no accurate since of time, I don't want to commit to that answer. So let's just say I've been reading this for a while (thanks to my pastor friend Dave who sent me the link one day in the office).

Why not, right? Entry number 3. I wonder if this will increase my chances. Probably not. I haven't looked, but I have a feeling that there are people who have commented hundreds of times. (Jan 2009= Start of my SCL readage.)

Adam O'Brien Jan 27, 2010

I'm a new reader, just checked this place out for the first time today. You folks are so spot on with some of these "observations." hahaha

Ben Jan 27, 2010

I've been reading for over a year now. It comes through my blog reader, so I never miss a post.

Sarah Jan 27, 2010

Today was my first day here. I heard you on Ear Reverent with Bob Lepine. I enjoyed the exchange, so I thought I would check out your blog!

Alison Vaughn Jan 26, 2010

Back again! Still reading since last comment. That’s got to mean something. Love the blog!

Since December 2009 or so :)

To be honest I'm relatively new here… I can't remember the exact date, but it would be somewhere within the last two to three months. Actually, it was when you did the Vietnam Kindergarten project with Wes Molebash's artwork! I really enjoy your posts, they give me much to laugh at and at the same time, much to ponder on.

Sincee all the way back in January 26, 2010? It's been the best decision of my life and since then I can truly say I'm a better person. Just kidding, but seriously… My friend said something about it fayboo (facebook), and it's been my cure for not wanting to do homework for the past hour, hour and a half. Now I know what I'll be doing during class tomorrow.

Aaron Jan 27, 2010

I started reading at the end of last semester, so like December 2009. But I've read the lion's share of the articles in the few weeks since then.

Miriam Jan 27, 2010

3 minutes! I WIN!

Annie Jan 27, 2010

I've been reading Stuff Christians Like for 58 days, and I love it! It's part of my daily blog reading, and it never disappoints!

Vicki Jan 27, 2010

I have been reading since last summer when my son forwarded a post that he thought I would like. Don't remember which one it was, but I really like most of them.

noel Jan 27, 2010

i have been reading SCL since the day my world improved greatly by discovering SCL.

Chris Jan 27, 2010

I think I've been reading for about a year. Time flies when you're laughing.

monica t Jan 27, 2010

i've been reading steadily for about six weeks, but occasionally clicked in for awhile longer….

@sparklysparkle1 Jan 27, 2010

Only a few weeks since "Is God a Mac or PC" popped up in greader recommended items… slightly mad I didn't find it sooner, but at least I get the fun of looking through the archives!

Amber Jan 27, 2010

DANG! I just wanted to express regret that I missed this contest opportunity. And, yes, I read Serious Wednesday for this week, and I still regret slacking off on my Stuff Christians Like patronage. Not like I would have won anyway, but I would have had hope.

(About a year. That's how long I've been reading, if anyone cares just for marketing purposes.)

@water_ouzel Jan 27, 2010

I've been reading fairly regularly for probably a few months now, and I blame a couple facebook friends for getting me hooked before that!

Rachael Jan 28, 2010

A little over a year. LOVE IT!

Tom Jan 27, 2010

I have been reading your blog for a little over 7 months now. It started when you’re blog was mentioned in a Sunday School class on Christians and Digital Media. I browsed a couple times, and then got hooked and seem to go nuts if I don’t get my fix. Keep up the craziness.

Rachel Feb 3, 2010

The first post I read was #24 Church names that sound like clothing stores so whenever you wrote that one is when I started reading SCL!!

shawna williams Mar 2, 2010

I started reading it today.
