One time a girl I worked with was selling her house. She got an email from a real estate agent she was thinking about using. The only problem was that he ended his email like this:
thanks for your time
IHG
Matt
She couldn’t figure out what “IHG” meant. She decided the guy must be some sleazy agent that specializes in “ugly houses” and since her house was not in fact ugly she told him to scram. A few days later he wrote her back and apologized for the confusion. IHG meant “in his grip,” a subtle but confusing shout out to God. That’s something we Christians love to do. At the end of our emails we like to give a little “what’s up” to the man upstairs. A guy I love uses “until his nets are full” which is funny to me. I know we’re supposed to be fishers of men but I just get the image of me and my friends at the mall with nets trying to capture people in the food court like the apes caught Charlton Heston in Planet of the Apes.
So tell me, what’s your God shout at that you use at the end of emails?
