I once met one of the reindeer that was in Mariah Carey’s video for “All I want for Christmas is you.” I think “met” is the right word to describe what happens when you go to a Christmas event and they have reindeer outside. And right now, I can barely contain myself with how close we are to “Mariah Carey Merry Christmas CD” season. Wow, that is some fantastic listening right there. I’m not kidding. If there’s one thing I never kid about it’s Mariah Carey’s Merry Christmas album.
But until the day after Thanksgiving, here are the three CDs we play most often in our house:
Seeds Family Worship: Seeds of Faith
This CD is comprised of Bible verses put to music and although it’s for kids I really dig it.
Glory Revealed: The Word of God in Worship
More Bible verses, but now it’s contemporary artists singing them. (Sounds so cheesy when you describe it, but it’s a great CD. I’m trying to pour Bible into my head while I’m writing the book or else it’s going to suck. And after the book too.)
Ray Charles – Greatest Hits
We dance to this CD at the kitchen table after dinner. Yeah that’s right, the Acuffs dance to Ray Charles at the kitchen table. Imagine me, my wife and two daughters busting out the routine below:
